Shittiestsnowweb_2
A staple of an Edmonton springtime: shitty, disgusting snow.

Garbageweb
Another staple of springtime in Edmonton: plentiful garbage.

Noleavesweb
The third lynchpin of an Edmonton springtime: trees without leaves on them.

Cityhallshitsnowweb
The hat trick: shitty snow, lots of leafless trees, and a little bit of litter -- in front of city hall, to boot!

Brownness_web
Brown to spare.

Mudlotweb
One more classic: the muddy, unpaved surface parking lot.

Orangebuildingweb
Aesthetically, Edmonton's one saving grace in the spring is the light. Particularly when the sun is setting and it makes neato reflections.

Urbanbunnieweb
Urban bunny!

Cntowerweb
This tower doesn't get enough play, I think. Stupid Manulife gets all the glory...

Oilskylineweb
Who needs a downtown skyline when you've got refineries right in town?!

Sunsetfieldweb
This was taken about 50 metres south of the City of Edmonton's northern border, facing south into the city.

Nice shots.

The surface parking lots and litter are horrible. The brown to spare, though, is not so bad considering that Calgary has it all summer.

. . . and then there's today. You should post a photo taken today.

I'm with you on the CN Tower: it's a really beautiful building, way better than the featureless glass of most of our towers.

Hey, these pictures are amazing! Very evocative--the one with the rabbit, especially, captures so much mood, plays with contrast, colour, horizon, etc. Quit your day job!

Sitting in Tokyo, which is permanently hideous 24/7, those photos look pretty good to me...
